Alumni Campaign

May 2, 2013

Dear Fellow Day School Alumni:

What part did you play in the school play? Do you remember the “clean up” song from Kindergarten?  What nickname did Rabbi Shore give you?

The Syracuse Hebrew Day School played a major role in your childhood, and it continues to do so for the children who came after you.  As we prepare to celebrate Shavuot, the Syracuse Hebrew Day School has many reasons to be joyful and proud:

  • The Day School Players’ annual musical “Wonderland!” was a sold-out hit.
  • The 6th graders rocked the CNY Science Fair, winning honors and prizes.
  • The Student Council raised over $3,000 for charities in the U.S. and in Israel.
  • The 6th graders celebrated Kabbalat haTorah, in recognition of their proficiency in reading Torah.
  • We just got iPad minis for all the teachers and iPads for 5th and 6th graders, as well as new laptops, flatscreens and other new technology.

What makes you proud about your association with SHDS?  Which teacher made the greatest impact on you?  How did SHDS contribute to your life or the life of someone you love?  Whose life will you contibute to in return?

The Day School is asking for your help to give a new generation of “Day School kids” the opportunity to stand upon the shoulders of alumni like us who prededed them.

Your gift to the Alumni Fund helps maintain the Day School’s top-notch reputation and its competitive academic and co-curricular programs.  Your gift will help build sufficient financial aid and scholarship funds for students in need – a number that rises significantly each year.  Your gift will help SHDS pay for ever-increasing costs of technology, facilities and upkeep and improvements, and even the salaries of the wonderful teachers who meant so much to us.

The check you write (or the click you make) will help SHDS reach its financial goals and continue offering state-of-the-art opportunities.

Future fellow alumni are depending on you.  Please consider making a gift to the SHDS 2012-13 Annual Alumni Fund today.

With best regards,
